Overview Dial-A-Tire is a premier, locally owned automotive repair and tire center that has proudly served Halifax for over three decades. We are currently seeking a motivated and hardworking Apprentice Automotive Service Technician to join our busy service bays. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with foundational tire and lubrication experience to elevate their career, learn directly from Licensed Automotive Technicians, and formally progress in the automotive trades within a supportive, family-owned environment.

What You?ll Be Doing:

• Performing scheduled preventative maintenance, including rapid oil changes, fluid flushes, and lubrication.
• Executing precise tire installations, repairs, rotations, and seasonal changeovers during peak operational periods.
• Assisting Licensed Automotive Mechanics in diagnosing and isolating faults in electrical, mechanical, and exhaust systems.
• Adjusting, repairing, or replacing parts and components (such as brakes, steering, and suspension) under the direct supervision of a certified technician.
• Testing and adjusting repaired systems to ensure they meet manufacturer performance specifications and our rigorous safety standards.
• Maintaining accurate records of work performed and advising Service Advisors on vehicle condition and future repair requirements.

What We?re Looking For:

• Foundational mechanical aptitude with prior experience in tire installation and basic automotive maintenance.
• Registered as (or willing to immediately register as) an Automotive Service Technician Apprentice in the province of Nova Scotia.
• A strong collaborative mindset with the ability to take direction from senior technicians and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• The physical capability to meet the demands of a busy shop, including heavy lifting and extended periods of activity.
• A valid Nova Scotia Driver?s License with a clean abstract.

• Location: Spryfield (308 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS, B3R 1V4) OR Bedford (70 Rosno Lane, Unit 1&2, Bedford, NS, B4B 1J7)
• Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-Time
• Hours of Work: 35 to 40 hours per week (Minimum 35 hours guaranteed; can increase depending on operational requirements)
• Wage: $30 to $40 per Hour (Depends on Skill Level or Experience)
• Language of Work: English (Proficiency Expected)

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
