About the role
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Outdoors. At heights. Confined spaces. Odours. Work setting: Various locations. On-site customer service. Tasks: Prepare, clean and sand surfaces to be painted. Repair cracks and holes. Mix paint to desired colour and texture. Measure, cut and apply wallpaper and other fabric to walls. Advise consumers on colours and choice of wall coverings. Erect scaffolding and swing stages and attach rigging. Apply paint, wallpaper and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces. Estimate costs and materials. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Working at heights training. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Equipment and machinery experience: Airless spray equipment. Brush painting. Conventional spray painting. Multi-ratio pump spraying. Roller painting. Surface preparation experience: Drywall taping/patching. Water/hydroblasting. Steam cleaning. Flame cleaning. Construction specialization: Industrial, commercial and institutional. Coating/application specialization: Surface gilding. Multi-color finishes. Paint spraying. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Drug test. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Ability to distinguish between colours. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Physically demanding. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Flexibility.
