Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Engineer with a strong technical skill set and a background in municipal infrastructure (sewer, watermain) projects to join our growing Water Sector team in the Greater Toronto Area. Responsibilities & Qualifications DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as a Senior Technical Engineer for municipal infrastructure projects, providing engineering leadership throughout planning, design, tendering, and construction phases. Lead and actively participate in the preparation of engineering studies, technical reports, design calculations, drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Provide technical direction, guidance, and quality oversight to project teams to ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations. Review and approve engineering deliverables, including design submissions, reports, drawings, and specifications, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with industry best practices. Collaborate with Project Managers and discipline leads to support successful project delivery. Liaise with clients, utility companies, regulatory agencies, and approval authorities to facilitate project approvals and resolve technical issues. Provide technical support during construction, including responding to requests for information, reviewing contractor submissions, conducting site reviews, and addressing field-related engineering challenges. Support business development and proposal pursuits by contributing technical expertise, scope development, work plans, and effort estimates. Participate in quality management initiatives by supporting the development and implementation of technical standards, procedures, and continuous improvement practices. Mentor and support the development of junior and intermediate engineering teams through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and professional development activities. Additional responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and/or JOB EXPERIENCE): Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario. Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in the planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects within Southern Ontario and Canada. Strong knowledge of municipal engineering design standards, regulatory frameworks, and approval processes. Demonstrated experience leading technical design teams and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering projects. Experience preparing and reviewing engineering reports, technical specifications, drawings, and contract documents. Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to clients, stakeholders, and project teams. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Client-focused professional committed to delivering practical, innovative, and technically sound solutions. Demonstrated commitment to quality, safety, integrity, and continuous improvement. Experience mentoring and developing engineering staff within a collaborative and inclusive team environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and industry-standard engineering software. PMP designation is considered an asset. Additional Information TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $110,000-$140,000 for this position and local market.
