Our client, a fast-growing leader in automation, is seeking an Electrical Designer to join their team.

This role will contribute to concept reviews, design of current electrical and safety standards, and maintain customer specifications while delivering top-tier automated solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly collaborative team environment with a clear pathway toward an Electrical Design Lead position.

This is a 1 year contract to hire role (will convert to permanent ) , onsite 5 days a week in Cambridge, ON.

What You’ll Do Design and develop common electrical designs as per customer and project requirements based on standard methods Provide electrical assistance during the various stages of integration Select, test and integrate hardware and software components such as robots, analog devices, motion controllers, sensors, vision systems and lasers Perform engineering calculations such as power calculation, short-circuit current rating, and panel heat loss/cooling Take ownership of electrical design deliverables for key project components, with the opportunity to influence design decisions and standards Collaborate cross-functionally with controls engineers, mechanical designers, and customers to deliver fully integrated automation solutions Work on a variety of custom automation projects, each with unique technical challenges and customer requirements Learn from experienced engineers and technical leaders while expanding your expertise in electrical design, safety standards, and automation systems

What You Bring A post-secondary engineering degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in mechanical, electrical, systems or computer engineering Around 4-6 years of Electrical Design experience Experience in an automation environment is considered a strong asset Technical experience with EPLAN is an asset Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing A self-starter attitude with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
