About the role
Architectural Technologist Ottawa Valley | Full-Time | Office + Site Done-Right Construction & Renovations Inc.
Done-Right Construction & Renovations Inc. is seeking an Architectural Technologist to support the planning, drafting, coordination, and execution of custom homes, major renovations, and multi-family residential projects across the Ottawa Valley.
This role is ideal for someone with strong technical drafting abilities, solid construction knowledge, and experience preparing permit and construction drawing packages within a residential or design-build environment. The successful candidate will work closely with our design and construction team to develop accurate, buildable plans and ensure projects are properly coordinated from concept through construction.
The Role Working alongside our internal design and project management team, you will assist in developing and coordinating drawing sets required for permitting, pricing, construction, and site execution. You will play an important role in translating project concepts into clear technical documentation while helping maintain project organization and communication throughout the build process.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Drafting & Documentation
- Prepare permit-ready and construction-ready drawing packages including floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and site-related documentation
- Develop accurate and buildable technical drawings for custom homes, renovations, additions, and multi-family projects
- Coordinate drawing packages with engineers, consultants, and suppliers
- Revise drawings throughout the project lifecycle including redlines, revisions, and as-built updates
- Ensure drawings and specifications remain current, organized, and aligned with project scope and site conditions
- Assist with building permit submissions and related documentation
Project Coordination & Construction Support
- Participate in project meetings, site visits, and coordination discussions with internal team members and consultants
- Assist with reviewing site conditions, field measurements, and construction details
- Coordinate and distribute updated drawings and project information to site teams and subcontractors
- Maintain organized digital project files and documentation
Vendor & Consultant Coordination
- Liaise with engineers and architects throughout project development
- Request and review shop drawings, product information, and technical specifications
- Track project drawings revisions and maintain accurate documentation across platforms and shared systems
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology or a related field
- 2?5 years of experience in residential drafting, architectural technology, or design-build environments
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Chief Architect, Revit, SketchUp, or similar drafting software
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, detailing, and building systems
- Experience preparing permit and construction drawing packages
- Familiarity with Ontario Building Code requirements and permitting processes
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Professional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clients, consultants, and site teams
