About the role The purpose of the Environmental Technician role is to be responsible for safe handling, processing, and disposal of hazardous waste while ensuring full compliance with environmental regulations and Evolution’s Sustainability Performance Standards. This position also supports environmental monitoring programs to ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations. This role is to recruit for a new vacancy. The position will be on an 5/2/4/3 (9 – hour day) roster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario. We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $72,000 - $86,000 CAD. Key result areas in this role include: Hazardous Waste Management Safely handle, package, process, and track hazardous waste materials for disposal, treatment, or recycling. Maintain detailed waste inventory and accurate records of hazardous materials. Operate and maintain specialized recycling and waste management equipment (e.g., forklift, small loader, pallet jack, bulb eater, waste oil tanks). Adhere to all federal, provincial, and municipal regulations governing waste management and hazardous materials. Sort, segregate, and prepare different hazardous waste types for proper disposal or recycling. Conduct on-site inspections and monitoring of hazardous waste systems to ensure compliance and identify process improvements. Environmental Monitoring Support Support activities related to various environmental monitoring programs including surface and groundwater, metal leaching and acid rock drainage. Prepare technical reports Monitoring data management. Comply with federal and provincial acts, regulations and legal requirements Adhere to all Evolution Mining policies and procedures Work in a healthy work environment with full support, co-operation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free. Perform other duties as assigned. About you As Hazardous Waste Management Technician you will hold a diploma in an environmental program or relevant program and have waste management experience with the ability to operate waste management and recycling equipment. It is also important that you have / can demonstrate: Ability to interpret environmental legislation, provincial acts, and regulations. Capable of following written procedures with strong attention to detail. Suitable time management abilities and able to adhere to tight timelines. Works effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapts well to constant change. Ability to work in all weather conditions.
