Job Description

Job Title: Production Operator Location: Oakville, ON, Department: Operations Status: Full-time Work Arrangement: On Site I 12 hrs. Continental Night Shift I 7pm – 7am. Hourly wage Rate: $24/hr.

The Company: Polar Performance Materials was founded in 2012 and produces ultra-high purity alumina (HPA) using a proprietary low-carbon process. The factory, located in Oakville Canada is powered with electricity generated by Niagara Falls. Polar’s HPA is increasingly necessary to manufacture products used in high growth, high purity semiconductor applications. Other applications include LEDs, lithium-ion batteries, thermal management materials, and technical ceramics utilized in aerospace, medical and industrial systems.

Position Overview: The Production Operator plays a vital role in the daily operations of our manufacturing facility. This position involves operating machinery, handling materials, packaging products, and contributing to the overall cleanliness and efficiency of the plant. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and adaptable to a rotating shift schedule. This role also supports ongoing plant expansion and installation of new equipment, ensuring production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities: Operate a hydraulic press to produce components from ceramic powder. Load and unload production equipment manually and with a forklift. Operate various manufacturing equipment in accordance with standard procedures. Perform material handling, product packaging, and participate in shipping and receiving activities. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the factory and equipment. Assist with the installation of new equipment and support plant expansion projects. Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, quality standards, housekeeping rules, and operating procedures. Work rotating shifts including day, afternoon, or night shifts as scheduled. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Required Skills and Qualifications: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a production or manufacturing role. Previous work in a manufacturing facility is an asset. Experience operating tools, machinery, or fabrication equipment. Experience using a forklift will be preferred High school diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education in a related field is considered an asset. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Comfortable working a continental 12-hour Night shift schedule. Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality. Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines. Positive team attitude with a strong work ethic and reliability.
