About the role

Job Summary Perform diagnostic, maintenance and repair work on heavy-duty equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Work collaboratively with technicians and supervisors to complete service tasks and maintain maintenance records. Number of Positions 8 Main Duties Inspect heavy-duty equipment to identify mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults. Diagnose problems using manual inspection, diagnostic tools and computerized systems. Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering components and hydraulic systems. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, lubrication and adjustments according to manufacturer guidelines. Fabricate or fit replacement parts, perform welding and assembly as required, and test repaired equipment for proper operation. Maintain accurate service records, prepare work reports and communicate findings and recommendations to supervisors or clients. Requirements Secondary school diploma or equivalent; completion of relevant technical training or apprenticeship in heavy-duty equipment mechanics. Practical experience working on heavy-duty diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic and brake systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and parts diagrams. Proven ability to use hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment and computerized service tools. Physical capability to lift heavy components, work in confined spaces and perform tasks that require standing, bending and climbing. Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices and ability to follow safe work procedures.
