Project Manager - Building Restoration Consulting
Key Responsibilities
Manage building restoration projects from initial design through construction and completion. Lead proposal development, including scope definition, fee estimation, scheduling, and resource planning. Conduct site investigations and building condition assessments. Prepare technical reports, project recommendations, and restoration strategies. Develop restoration designs, including scopes of work, specifications, and construction drawings. Lead client meetings and communicate project updates, design changes, and key milestones with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams. Manage tendering and contract administration activities, including bid preparation, contractor selection, invoice reviews, and change order management. Participate in industry networking and professional development activities. Stay current with industry trends, codes, and best practices. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Travel occasionally within Canada, with the majority of projects located in Nova Scotia. Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution. Minimum 5 years of experience in Building Envelope Consulting and/or Structural Restoration. Registered with or eligible for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia. Demonstrated project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, scope management, and resource planning. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong relationship-building skills with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
