Pinchin is seeking a Senior Technical Manager, Building Envelope to join our Building Science and Resiliency team in British Columbia. The role reports to the Operations Manager/Director.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will lead and grow Pinchin’s Building Envelope practice in British Columbia, with a focus on Building Envelope assessment, design, rehabilitation, restoration consulting, and client development. This leadership role is responsible for driving technical excellence, supporting strategic growth initiatives, mentoring staff, and strengthening client relationships throughout the region.
Your Impact
- Lead and grow the Building Envelope team through mentorship, recruitment, technical development, and operational leadership.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for strategic business growth across British Columbia.
- Lead business development initiatives including networking, proposal preparation, presentations, and client engagement activities.
- Manage and oversee building envelope assessment, design, restoration, and rehabilitation projects from inception through completion.
- Conduct and review assessments of roofing systems, exterior wall assemblies, curtain wall systems, windows, balconies, waterproofing systems, and parking structures.
- Provide technical leadership for building enclosure investigations, leak assessments, invasive testing, and rehabilitation design.
- Lead restoration and renewal projects including specification preparation, tendering, contract administration, and construction review services.
- Oversee project budgets, scope management, scheduling, invoicing, and financial performance.
- Maintain and enhance QA/QC protocols and technical standards within the group.
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior and intermediate staff, including technical review of reports and deliverables.
- Prepare technical reports, rehabilitation strategies, capital planning recommendations, cost estimates, and CAD drawing reviews.
- Support collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across Building Science, Structural, MEP, Environmental, and Sustainability groups.
What You’ll Bring to Pinchin

- Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil, Structural, Building Envelope, Architectural, or related Engineering discipline.
- Professional designation such as P.Eng., CET, BSS, RRO, RRC, or equivalent.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in building envelope consulting, restoration, rehabilitation, and building science projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of building enclosure systems including roofing, cladding, glazing, balconies, waterproofing, and parking garage structures.
- Proven experience leading assessment, design, and rehabilitation projects for existing buildings.
- Demonstrated experience growing client relationships and supporting business development initiatives.
- Strong leadership experience managing teams, mentoring staff, and supporting operational growth.
- Experience with contract administration, construction review, and project financial management.
- Ability to prepare and review technical reports, specifications, drawings, and rehabilitation recommendations.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, standards, and restoration best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and project management skills.
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, and ability to travel throughout British Columbia.
