ABOUT THE ROLE The Director of Aggregates Manufacturing drives operational excellence, cost efficiency, and performance optimization across the aggregate product line for Central Canada. Reporting to the Regional President and working closely with local operations teams, this role is responsible for executing the operational business cycle, establishing key performance indicators, and leading cost reduction strategies. Managing a team of subject matter experts, the Director fosters best-practice sharing, oversees capital deployment, and implements technical training to scale business growth. Key areas of oversight include:
Production Cost & Capital Management Plant & Maintenance Performance Operational Planning & Performance Indicators (OPIs) Fleet Management
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
Drive strategic leadership, operational excellence, and foster a culture of innovation and safety across all facets of the role. Conduct strategic reviews and deliver crucial expertise in M&A due diligence, ensuring strategic alignment and operational synergy. Ensure the appropriate manufacturing systems, processes, and tools are in place to achieve excellence in asset utilization, plant performance, and capital investments. Drive continuous improvement through effective management and leveraging of OPIs, conducting on-site performance reviews and providing operational support as needed. Facilitate the sharing of best practices across all regions, creating a collaborative space for innovation and improvement. Oversee the management of capital deployment and execution. Oversee the management of the HME Fleet to ensure optimized asset utilization and cost effectiveness. Assess, propose, and oversee the implementation of operational systems and tools that can optimize operational performance. Execute process development, implementation, best practices reviews, and benchmarking. Drive cost management, performance initiatives, and optimization exercises. Lead operational committees and create standard operating models and systems to align the Aggregate businesses. Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of equivalent experience. Preferred Education: MBA field of study preferred in Engineering, a related technical discipline, or Business Administration. Required Work Experience: Minimum of 10+ years to include experience in aggregates operational performance, P&L, and team management. Operational Expertise: Proven experience running and optimizing aggregate sites; General Manager or Operational Manager experience is ideal. Required Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google platform, and aggregate plant modelling software (Aggflow). Travel Requirements: Ability to fulfill travel requirements of +30% within Canada.
Additional Requirements:
Comprehensive understanding of the Aggregates business. Knowledge of surface mining, crushing, and screening principles. Demonstrated strong results across Functional role(s) and direct Business Management experience. Strong supervisory, people, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Disciplined, process-oriented, self-starter, driven, and assertive with the ability to influence decision making. Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
