About the role
Perma-Pipe in Camrose, Alberta is hiring Foam Operators to join our Production team!
We are looking for a mechanically inclined, safety-focused professional with strong troubleshooting skills to support and operate our foam coating processes.
This is an on-site position in Camrose, Alberta, and candidates must be authorized to work in Canada.

Position Requirements:
Ability to commute - Camrose, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.
Schedule - Monday to Friday with night shift rotation; Weekends and overtime required as needed.
Must Be - Flexible to work varied shifts, weekends, or on-call assignments as required.
Shift - Must be able to work 10-hour shifts with the ability to stand/walk.
Pre-Employment - Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test.
Qualifications
Essential Job Functions
Foam Operations & Production
Operate, monitor, and maintain foam coating equipment. Perform start-up and shutdown of foam systems. Verify and adjust foam mix ratios as needed. Inspect foam coatings and take corrective action. Monitor and record system parameters and material usage. Ensure all customer specifications and quality standards are met.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Troubleshoot foam system issues (e.g., line blockages, pressure irregularities). Inspect, dismantle, clean, and reassemble foam guns and pumps. Maintain proper chemical levels and ensure cleaning solutions are stocked. Notify Maintenance and Supervisors when parts or repairs are required.
Quality & Safety
Ensure a high-quality product (target: <1% NCR rate). Adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and WHMIS standards. Participate actively in safety meetings and complete required safety documentation. Shut down systems if parameters are not met and communicate with QC/management.
Team & Leadership
Supervise foam line operations and ensure process compliance. Train and support assistants and new team members. Direct housekeeping and maintenance of the work area. Work collaboratively with production teams.
Qualifications & Skills
Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting ability. Minimum 6 months’ experience working with foam processes (assistant level or higher). Understanding of foam systems, compression, and density values. Experience with coating line panels (Lines 1, 2, and 3 preferred). Ability to set up pipe rotators and spray trolleys (Line 3) is an asset. Basic computer skills and legible documentation ability. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Knowledge of safety regulations (WHMIS certification preferred). Ability to operate and maintain industrial equipment. Experience is an asset but NOT required.
Physical Demands
Raise/lower or move objects horizontally. Frequent wrist/hand motions. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. (23 kg). Ability to respond quickly to sounds. Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. Visual acuity required for accuracy and thoroughness of work. Standing/walking for more than 90% of shift, including long distances. Ability to work in extreme weather.
Work Environment
Manufacturing and industrial setting. Exposure to hazards associated with electrical and industrial trade work. Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, and other safety gear. Active industrial shop with exposure to dust, noise, varying temperatures, and heavy machinery. Frequent use of PPE including gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and dust masks as required.
Education & Certifications
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
