About the role

Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Dusty. Work setting: Urban area. Relocation costs not covered by employer. Warehouse. Tasks: Lay out, cut, fabricate and install upholstery. Tack, glue or sew ornamental trim, braids or buttons. Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces. Train workers in duties and policies. Set up assembly line with materials and supplies required for production. Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Monitor quality and production levels. Maintain inventory of stored material. Maintain quality control and production records. Maintain daily log of operation, maintenance and safety activities. Interpret blueprints/specifications/standards and written technical instructions. Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards. Forecast production and consumption of products. Examine products for defects to ensure adherence to quality standards. Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards. Check products for defects and to ensure conformance to company standards. Check products for quality and other specifications. Check and monitor product quality. Build and repair wooden frames used to mould concrete products. Troubleshoot problems related to equipment. Operate preset special purpose woodworking machines to fabricate wood products. Hire, supervise and train or oversee training of employees in the use of new equipment or production techniques. Monitor production and troubleshoot production problems. Help with scheduling and workflow. Complete and maintain production reports. Control the quality of drug products during production to ensure that they meet standards of potency, purity, uniformity, stability and safety. Operate machinery.
