OUR OPPORTUNITY Govan Brown is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Site Supervisor to join our team to oversee ICI construction project sites. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in construction management, offering hands-on experience in coordinating site activities and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The successful candidate will work closely with senior site management, the project management team and subcontractors to help deliver high-quality construction projects on time and within budget.

Your responsibilities will include:

Play a key role in ensuring projects and service work is executed on time and on budget Maximize site productivity by managing and coordinating the work performance, quality and efficiency subcontractors Create a safe work environment by implementing strict Health & Safety guidelines on site and ensuring compliance with all related legislation and safe practices Interpret plans and specifications according to the scope of the project, ensuring compliance with working drawings and specifications Liaise effectively and maintain regular communication with all Project Stakeholders Exercise legal due diligence, including maintenance of a daily job history log, inspecting workmanship to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and identifying resources required

WHAT YOU BRING 2+ years of hands-on construction site experience or experience in a related supervisory role is considered a strong asset. Experience in commercial construction, carpentry, or a related trade is an asset. Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Construction Project Management, or a related discipline is preferred. Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety; relevant training or certifications are considered an asset. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships and earn the trust of project teams, clients, and stakeholders. Sound knowledge of construction practices, industry regulations, and applicable health and safety standards. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands and manage resources effectively. High degree of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct. Proficient with digital tools and technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and SiteDocs or similar construction management and reporting software.

YOUR WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT HQ is located at 108 Vine Avenue, Toronto. This position is based in a construction work site environment in all seasons. This is not a hybrid or remote role.
