We’re looking for a Rail Yard Railcar Mover (RCM) Operator to support our client site in Northwest Edmonton by safely and efficiently organizing and moving railcars. If you’re CROR/IROR‑qualified, highly self‑directed, and comfortable working independently in an active rail environment, this is an opportunity to play a critical role in keeping operations running smoothly — safely and without interruption. This position follows a 5/5/4 schedule and includes irregular working hours within the assigned work block. What You’ll Do As a Rail Yard Railcar Mover Operator, you’ll be responsible for supporting continuous plant operations by managing the safe movement and placement of railcars. Your responsibilities will include: Safely organize, move, and spot railcars within the rail yard Pull empty railcars from unloading areas and secure them as required Pull loaded railcars and re‑spot empties to support uninterrupted loading operations Operate railcar movers and related equipment in accordance with CROR/IROR and site rules Monitor railcar positioning to ensure operational efficiency and safety Troubleshoot issues as they arise and communicate effectively with site contacts Perform duties primarily independently with minimal supervision Maintain the safe use and care of hand tools and equipment Comply with all company policies, site requirements, and rail safety regulations This role works almost exclusively alone and is well‑suited to someone who is reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently. What You Bring Strong ability to work independently with minimal instruction Excellent verbal and written communication skills Self‑directed work style with strong attention to detail Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills High level of safety awareness and discipline in a rail environment Job Requirements CROR and/or IROR qualification (required) Extensive experience operating Railcar Movers and/or locomotives Ability to work irregular hours within a 7 on / 7 off schedule Physically capable of performing all job duties Competency in the use and care of hand tools Ability to operate heavy equipment is considered an asset Reliable transportation and ability to access the Northwest Edmonton site Why Join Us?
