Position Outline

As a Mechanical Assembler (Machinery builder) the mechanic will assemble a wide variety of machinery using mechanical assembly drawings, work instructions, visual aids and direction from a work cell lead assembler. The assembly process will involve use of a wide variety of tools and equipment. Ideal candidates will be familiar with drive systems, machined components, pumps, bearing, latches, hinges, HVAC, piping, fitting, etc. Candidates applying must have their own tools. Any job specific tools will be provided by O?Hara Technologies Inc. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with food, beverage or pharmaceutical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Determine project requirements including scope, sequences, equipment and methods

2. Inspect parts, products for conformance to specification using appropriate measuring equipment and make corrections as required

3. Assemble, fit, install, prefabricated parts to form subassemblies, finished product, using hand and power tools

4. Position, align and adjust assemblies, parts for proper fit and assembly

5. Position, align and adjust bearings, shafts, moving parts for proper fit and assembly

6. Attach, fasten assemblies, parts together using bolts, rivets, caulks, bonds or other joining technique

7. Operate pump trucks, small cranes to transport or position larger parts

8. Trim, file, grind, deburr, and buff surfaces, seams and joints, using hand tools and portable power tools

9. Position, align, gaskets, seals, trim, insulation for proper seal

10. Perform daily safety checks and maintain equipment in good working order

11. Maintain good housekeeping practices within the work area and return all unused parts to inventory

12. On a daily basis, record hours work against project number

13. Occasionally perform on-site service calls as required and complete all necessary documentation

Essential Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

• Demonstration of mechanical aptitude and/or three years? experience of working in a mechanical assembly environment

• Automotive/heavy equipment mechanics welcome to apply

• Possesses a current Drivers License

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$36.00 per hour
