Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Chief Mate to help us deliver tour cruises on the North Saskatchewan River.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as master on the Edmonton Queen using your Chief Mate, Near Coastal or greater CoC.
• Maintain records and log books of ship operations.
• Communicate effectively with crew members and treat all members of staff with respect.
• You must be a team player.
• Report hazards, damage or potential operational issues to management.
• Support loading and unloading of supplies as needed.
• Follow safety procedures at all times, run emergency drills, and support crew during any incidents.
• Be the face of the company and provide friendly and professional assistance to passengers during boarding, disembarking, and while underway.

Qualifications:

• Chief Mate, Near Coastal ticket or greater.
• You must has a valid CoC from Transport Canada.
• You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Applicants without their PR will automatically be denied.
• You must have experience operating a sternwheel vessel (paddlewheel propulsion).
• You must have experience navigating shallow river systems.
• Proficient in English.
