Workday Core HCM Certificate or any Workday Integration We are seeking a Workday Integration Engineer/Lead with strong hands-on experience designing and delivering integrations using Workday Orchestration, Workday Extend apps, and Workday APIs (SOAP & REST). The ideal candidate will build event-driven and scalable integrations, implement secure API patterns, and partner with HR/Finance/IT stakeholders to deliver reliable automation across enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilitie sIntegration Design & Deliver y· Design, build, test, and deploy integrations using Workday Orchestration, including event-based triggers and downstream workflows .Develop and maintain integrations leveraging Workday APIs (SOAP and REST) for real-time and near-real-time data exchange .Build and support integrations using Workday integration frameworks such as :o EIB (Inbound/Outbound )o Core Connectors / Cloud Connec to Workday Studio (as applicable )o RaaS (Reports-as-a-Service) and calculated fields where neede dImplement integration patterns including :o Event-driven orchestration (business process events, change events, and system events )o API-first integration so Asynchronous and re-triable processing pattern so Idempotency, correlation IDs, and transaction traceabilit yWorkday Extend Apps & Automatio n· Design and develop Workday Extend applications to enable custom user experiences and orchestrated business outcomes .Integrate Extend apps with Workday and external systems using Orchestration and Workday APIs .Build reusable services/components for validations, approvals, and process automation .Event-Based Triggering & Orchestratio n· Configure and implement event-based triggers using Workday Orchestration to automate end-to-end processes (e.g., hire-to-provision, job change updates, term-to-deprovision, vendor onboarding) .Define trigger conditions, event routing, error handling, and observability mechanisms .Ensure orchestration flows align with business processes and support audit and compliance requirements .Security, Controls & Reliabilit y· Implement security best practices for integrations including :o Authentication/authorization patterns (e.g., OAuth2 where applicable, API client controls )Least privilege access via Workday security domains and integration system user sSecrets management and secure certificate handlin gBuild operationally resilient integrations with :o Monitoring, alerting, logging, and runbook sAutomated retries, dead-letter handling (when applicable), and reconciliation step sSupport compliance requirements (SOX/ITGC/data privacy) through strong traceability and documented controls .Testing, Deployment & Suppor t· Create and execute integration test strategies including unit tests, end-to-end tests, and regression plans .Manage releases across tenants (Sandbox → Implementation → Production) using Workday deployment best practices .Provide production support, troubleshoot failures, and perform root cause analysis (RCA) with preventive actions .Stakeholder Collaboratio n· Work closely with HR/Finance, Security, IAM, and downstream application teams to define interface requirements .Translate business needs into solution architecture and integration specifications .Provide technical guidance and mentor junior integration developers
. Required Qualificatio ns· 3–8+ years of Workday integration experience (level adjusted for Engineer vs Lead ).Strong hands-on experience wit h:o Workday Orchestration (including event-driven pattern s)o Workday APIs: SOAP and RE STWorkday integration tools such as EIB, RaaS, and/or Stud ioSolid understanding o f:o Integration patterns (sync/async, pub-sub concepts, event-driven architecture s)Data transformation formats: JSON, XML, XS LTAPI testing and debugging tools (e.g., Postman or equivalen t)Experience building reliable error-handling, monitoring, and reconciliation mechanism s.Strong documentation skills (interface specs, data mappings, runbooks, troubleshooting guides

Preferred Qualificati ons· Experience with Workday Extend app development and deployment lifecyc le.Experience integrating Workday with IAM/Provisioning solutions (e.g., Azure AD, SailPoint, Okta) using event trigge rs.Familiarity with middleware/iPaaS tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi) and hybrid patterns with Workday Orchestrati on.Knowledge of Workday security concepts: integration system users, domains, business process security polici es.Exposure to audit/compliance-driven environments (SOX, GDPR, SOC reportin
