The Engineering Compliance Manager will lead and scale product compliance across North America (USA, Canada, and Mexico) at Silent-Aire / Johnson Controls. The North American Engineering Compliance Manager is responsible for leading and evolving the enterprise compliance strategy across the North American product portfolio. This role ensures that designs, processes, and engineering changes consistently meet regulatory, safety, certification, and professional practice requirements across all applicable jurisdictions. Key Responsibilities Compliance Strategy & Leadership: Define and lead a scalable compliance strategy across North America Develop and lead a team of regional Engineering Compliance Officers Standardize governance, processes, and tools across product lines Regulatory & Standards Compliance: Maintain expertise in UL, CSA, NEC, NFPA, ASME, ASHRAE, ISO, IEC, NOM, and other applicable standards Translate regulatory requirements into actionable engineering expectations Monitor regulatory changes and drive integration Product Certification & External Engagement: Lead certification strategies and submissions (UL/CSA/NOM) Interface with certification bodies, clients, and AHJs Manage audits, findings, and corrective actions Professional Engineering Compliance: Ensure compliance with APEGA, U.S. PE and Mexican frameworks Govern stamping and professional accountability Lead compliance audits Risk & Design Assurance: Integrate compliance in DFMEA and risk processes Drive design for compliance practices Cross-Functional Integration: Partner across Engineering, Quality, Operations and Supply Chain Support supplier compliance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish KPIs, dashboards, and executive updates Monitor regulatory changes and assess impacts to existing and in-development products, ensuring timely communication and rapid integration of updated requirements into engineering and product development processes. Required Qualifications College or university degree, preferably in a related technical or engineering discipline. 8+ years of relevant experience. Experience leading compliance programs or teams. Strong knowledge of North American regulatory frameworks and certification processes. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineering (P.Eng.), Professional Licensee – Engineering (P.L.Eng.), or Technologist (C.E.T.). Experience with HVAC Products, Data Center infrastructure, industrial equipment, or power systems. Prior experience supporting audits or working directly with third-party certification bodies. HIRING SALARY RANGE: $110,000-$165,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
