About the role
Position Overview
The Park Maintenance Team Member plays an important role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests visiting the Agawa Canyon Tour Train park facilities. This position works closely with visitors and fellow team members to ensure guests enjoy a positive and memorable experience throughout their stay.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Patrol and monitor park grounds to ensure cleanliness and safety
- Clean campsites, washrooms, and outhouses as required
- Perform outdoor maintenance duties including:
- Lawn mowing
- Weed trimming
- Garbage and recycling collection
- Assist with passenger loading and unloading procedures
- Ensure all passengers safely return to the train before departure
- Provide assistance and support to train passengers and park guests
- Operate a variety of park maintenance equipment including:
- Small tractors
- Riding lawn mowers
- ATVs
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Assist with general carpentry and minor construction projects
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations

Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous related experience in maintenance, landscaping, construction, or outdoor operations preferred
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, and operating manuals
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions
- Comfortable working in physically demanding outdoor environments
Schedule
- 10-hour shifts
- Weekend and holiday availability required
- Rotation schedule: 8 days on / 6 days off
- Team members depart from Sault Ste. Marie and stay in the park for the duration of each 8-day shift
