About the role
Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Echocardiogram Technologist to perform high-quality cardiac ultrasound procedures that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions. The successful candidate will operate echocardiography equipment, analyze imaging results, and provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), stress echocardiograms, and related cardiac ultrasound procedures Prepare patients for procedures and explain testing processes clearly and professionally Operate and maintain echocardiography and Doppler ultrasound equipment Capture accurate diagnostic images and measurements for physician interpretation Monitor patient condition during procedures and report abnormalities or concerns promptly Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with clinical standards Collaborate closely with cardiologists, physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety, and privacy regulations Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives Assist with scheduling, workflow coordination, and equipment maintenance as required
Qualifications & Requirements Diploma or degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Cardiovascular Technology, or related field Current certification/registration as a Cardiac Sonographer or Echocardiography Technologist preferred Examples: ARDMS or CSCT certification Minimum 1–3 years of echocardiography experience preferred Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound imaging techniques Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary healthcare team Excellent communication, organizational, and patient-care skills BLS/CPR certification preferred
Preferred Skills Experience with stress echo and contrast studies Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems Strong attention to detail and diagnostic accuracy Ability to work efficiently in high-volume clinical settings
Work Environment Hospitals Cardiology clinics Diagnostic imaging centers Outpatient healthcare facilities
Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to assist patients with mobility when required Manual dexterity to operate ultrasound equipment effectively
