Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran (TSX:ELD) is seeking a Principal Geoscientist – Regional Projects to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at our Saskatoon regional office working Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30 pm with occasional field work in and around our McIlvenna Bay site.

The Principal Geoscientist – Regional Exploration is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the regional exploration strategy and managing the regional exploration team with a focus on discovery and project advancement. Reporting to and working in close collaboration with the Exploration Manager, this position provides high-level technical oversight across multiple exploration projects throughout the project life cycle, fostering a culture of collaboration throughout the company and projects, mentoring team members, and aligning technical execution with corporate growth objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
The Principal Geoscientist – Regional Projects will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Participate in and help lead in the development and execution of the company’s regional exploration strategy for Saskatchewan
- Oversee the planning, development and ranking of exploration targets to continuously advance the project pipeline from early-stage anomalies to drill ready prospects
- Refine criteria for a range of deposit styles and collaborate to advance effectively through conventional (geophysical, geochemical and structural) and AI targeting methods
- Actively monitor regional competitor activities, stay abreast of staking and land availability and provide technical recommendations for the acquisition of new prospective exploration projects
- Apply advanced mineral systems analysis and modern exploration methodologies, particularly vectoring through covered terrains
- Leading through influence, develop a team of professional geoscientists by providing training, guidance, mentorship and foster collaboration across other departments, teams and projects
- Manage and coordinate the activities of team members, specialists and external consultants assigned to regional exploration programs
- Collaborate with Orebody Knowledge Study team to guide regional target characterization
- Travel to the project site as required to collaborate with and support operations team
- Prepare and support writing of technical reports, closure reports, presentations and exploration updates for management and regulatory filings
- Actively support, apply and champion corporate values alongside the company’s health, safety and environmental policies across all field and office activities
- Support a positive working relationship with First Nation communities, local stakeholders, land users and government agencies
- Help identify and mitigate operational risk associated with remote exploration activities
Job Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related discipline; MSc or PhD in Economic Geology or Structural geology preferred
- Registered in good standing or the ability to register with APEGS as a Professional Geoscientist
- Minimum of 15 years of industry experience in mineral exploration including at least 10 years in base metal/copper focused regional programs (specifically VMS or magmatic systems)
- A proven track record of regional target generation that directly resulted in a significant base metal discovery or major resource expansion
- Extensive experience in project generation, project ranking, and working successfully within mineral systems obscured by cover
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a passion for mentoring junior staff and the ability to synthesize complex data into clear corporate recommendations
- Strong knowledge of exploration methodologies and experience working in terrains under cover
- A deeply ingrained commitment to safety leadership and environmental stewardship
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $155,925 - $170,775/year based on experience and qualifications. Annual discretionary short term incentive award at a percentage of base salary, rewarding exceptional contributions to team and company success.
