Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Injection Mold Set Up Technician role based in Orangeville, ON. The Injection Mold Set Up Technician is responsible for setting up, changing over, and optimizing injection molding machines according to production schedules and specifications. Daily tasks include installing and removing molds, adjusting process parameters, performing start-ups and shut-downs, and ensuring consistent part quality. The role involves troubleshooting molding issues, performing basic mechanical and tooling maintenance, and collaborating with production, quality, and maintenance teams to minimize downtime. The technician will complete required documentation, follow standardized work procedures, and uphold all safety, housekeeping, and quality standards on the production floor. Qualifications Hands-on 5 years experience with injection molding machine set up, mold changes, and process adjustments in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret production work orders, setup sheets, technical drawings, and basic measuring tools (calipers, gauges). Strong troubleshooting skills for molding defects, machine alarms, and minor mechanical issues, with the ability to escalate when needed. Knowledge of safe material handling, basic tooling care, and lockout/tagout or other industrial safety practices. Attention to detail in monitoring quality, documenting parameters, and maintaining consistent production standards. Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with operators, quality inspectors, and maintenance personnel. Ability to work full time on-site, including standing for extended periods, handling moderate lifting, and working in a fast-paced production environment. Previous experience in plastics manufacturing, packaging, or a related industrial setting is an asset. High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in plastics processing, industrial mechanics, or related fields is an advantage. Willingness to work shifts and overtime as required by production demands.
