The Position

Reporting to the Environmental Coordinator, the Environmental Technician must safely carry out an assortment of field and office work to meet business and regulatory needs. Position involves considerable amount of time in the field in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and maintain environmental monitoring and inspection programs which include but are not limited to ambient air, surface water, groundwater, potable water, as well as tailings and dam management programs Support the Environmental Department in data collection, management, analysis, and internal and external provincial and federal regulatory reporting (e.g., MEWS, MERS, Air Quality Data, NPRI) Contribute to initiatives that enhance Net Present Value (NPV) and support the company’s strategic environmental objectives and targets Respond to and investigate environmental incidents and spills, providing recommendations and ensuring proper response actions Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory and field monitoring equipment Serve as an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) pilot to conduct inspections and surveys Participate in government audits and regulatory inspections Assist with the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials

Skills And Qualifications

College/University degree in Environmental Studies or a related field 2–5 years of experience in the mining industry is considered an asset Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, including boat and ATV safety Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, power point) and strong data management skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Valid driver’s license On occasion will have to lift up to 50lbs.

Compensation And Benefits

Competitive total compensation package including:

Health, Dental, Life, AD&D, Disability, Healthcare and Wellness Spending Accounts, Virtual Care and Employee and Family Assistance Program; Company contributions and matching into a Defined Contribution Pension Plan; and Annual compensation of CAD$70,000 to CAD$86,000.
