A typical day may include: Inspecting, repairing, testing, and recharging fire extinguishers and other life safety equipment Using hand and power tools to complete mechanical repairs and maintenance Preparing equipment for customer deliveries and field service calls Assisting Field Technicians with equipment preparation and diagnostics Maintaining accurate service documentation Occasionally visiting customer sites to assist with inspections, training, or equipment servicing Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards Every piece of equipment you service helps protect people, workplaces, and communities across Northern Ontario. Career Growth This role is designed as an entry point into our Field Service team. As you gain experience, you'll receive additional technical training and certifications that can prepare you to advance into a Field Technician position, servicing customer sites throughout the region. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who enjoys mechanical work and wants to learn. You might be a great fit if you've worked as a: Shop Technician Automotive Technician or Apprentice Tire or Lube Technician Mechanical Labourer Heavy Equipment Helper Industrial Maintenance Technician Equipment Repair Technician Warehouse or Shop Associate with strong mechanical aptitude Required Qualifications Mechanical aptitude and confidence using hand and power tools Experience in a shop, mechanical, industrial, automotive, or equipment repair environment Valid driver's licence with a clean driving abstract Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to work independently while contributing to a team Comfortable learning new technical skills and procedures Nice to Have Forklift certification Basic electrical or mechanical troubleshooting experience Customer service experience Experience working with safety equipment or industrial products Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Comfortable standing, bending, and working with tools throughout the day Ability to wear a supplied-air respirator when required Ability to successfully complete criminal background, drug, and alcohol testing where required for customer sites Application & Hiring Process Levitt-Safety may use AI-enabled tools to support the screening and assessment of applications.
