Headquartered in Stoney Creek, the plants have design, mold, paint, assembly and testing capabilities. Tiercon manages 5 sites across 2 cities employing approximately 550 people throughout Canada. Tiercon is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as a Product Designer at our 591 Arvin Ave. Stoney Creek facility. </span></p><p><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><u>Job Summary & Reporting Structure: </u></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Work within Product Development to generate new product designs using the latest tools and engineering processes. Continuously improve design of current products utilizing VAVE, DOE and other related best practices. This position also applies to participation in the design innovation process and requires the key ability to apply the design needs of Tiercon, the customer, suppliers, and the appropriate regulating bodies to all job tasks. </span></p><p><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><u>Responsibilities:</u></span></p><ul style="list-style-type:circle;"><li><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Support the product design elements of new product development within the APQP process</span></li><li><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Design support for the continuous improvement of current products.</span></li><li><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Design resource during the ECR process</span></li><li><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Support design innovation projects.</span></li><li><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">The following are tasks (including appropriate documentation) that may be required within new product design, continuous improvement and innovation projects:</span><br /><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">o Vehicle and/or part data procurement</span><br /><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">o Participate in concept design</span><br /><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">o System and component design including reviews</span><br /><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">o Procure and apply all relevant specifications</span><br /><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">o 3D CAD models and drawing creation/revision (NX8, CATIA5)</span><br /><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">o Verification and/or validation of design through tolerance analysis, engineering calculations, prototypes, fit-ups, DVP&R management, product testing, etc.</span><br /><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">o DFMEA's, DFM/DFA, VA/VE analysis, Material specifications, DVP&R, etc.</span><br /><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">o BOMs</span><br /><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">o Installation ease and work instructions to meet customer expectations</span><br /><span style="fon
