Join Our Team as a Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) Engineering Specialist at Johnson Electric!

Location: Mississauga, ON (onsite)
Salary Range: $59K-$85K annually

As our next Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) Engineering Specialist, you’ll be at the forefront of developing, implementing, and improving NDT systems to ensure the highest levels of product quality. Your expertise in inspection technologies and manufacturing quality systems will be crucial in detecting defects, improving system performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across operations.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Support development, implementation, and debugging of NDT systems across manufacturing operations
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing NDT systems in collaboration with suppliers
  • Reduce false rejects and improve system accuracy and reliability
  • Develop and standardize documentation and work instructions for NDT processes
  • Evaluate and implement new inspection technologies (contact and non-contact methods)
  • Support equipment selection, installation, and system validation activities
  • Analyze data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities
  • Participate in cross‑functional meetings to resolve quality and operational issues
  • Act as a technical resource to production and engineering teams
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support standardization across the plant

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or NDT-related roles
  • Strong knowledge of NDT methods (vision systems, eddy current, magnetic particle, acoustic resonance, dye penetrant)
  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills
  • Experience troubleshooting and improving inspection or control systems
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and mechanical aptitude

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Powder Metallurgy Technologist (PMT) certification (Level 1 or 2)
  • Experience in automotive or high‑volume manufacturing environments
  • Project management experience
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives
