About the role
Company
Our clients are specialist water and wastewater treatment companies operating across the Canadian market. They deliver advanced treatment systems, reuse and resource recovery solutions, membrane and filtration technologies, industrial and municipal treatment upgrades, and complex project delivery support for public and private sector clients.
Position Summary
We are currently seeking Water & Wastewater Treatment Engineers across Canada to support a growing pipeline of treatment projects and technology deployments. This is an opportunity to join a market experiencing strong capital investment, tightening regulation, and a shortage of specialist engineering talent.
We are interested in engineers from a range of backgrounds including process, mechanical, electrical, controls, design, applications, commissioning, and project engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and delivery of water and wastewater treatment plants and systems.
- Contribute to process selection, equipment specification, design reviews, and technical problem solving.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, operations, projects, and commercial functions.
- Assist with proposals, project execution, commissioning, optimization, and client-facing technical support.
- Translate treatment requirements into practical, safe, and commercially viable solutions.
- Engage with contractors, utilities, industrial clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders as needed.
- Contribute to project outcomes across areas such as PFAS treatment, industrial water, reuse, membranes, filtration, disinfection, sludge/biosolids, and advanced treatment systems.
About You
- Background in water and/or wastewater treatment engineering in a consulting, OEM, technology, contractor, industrial, or utility environment.
- Experience in one or more of the following: process engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, controls/SCADA, design engineering, project engineering, applications engineering, commissioning, or operational optimization.
- Comfortable working on technically complex treatment systems and solving real-world delivery challenges.
- Able to interpret drawings, P&IDs, process requirements, and equipment/system interfaces.
- Strong communication skills and credibility with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant Canadian experience is highly valued, but we are also open to internationally trained engineers with transferable treatment expertise.
- P.Eng. eligibility or progression toward professional registration is advantageous, but not essential for every role.
- Best suited to engineers who want to build long-term careers in the water sector rather than generalist infrastructure roles.
Location
Canada-wide. Opportunities may be available in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec, with flexibility depending on the company, project pipeline, and level of role. Hybrid, office-based, and site-travel positions may all be available.
