About the role

As a Product Designer, you are responsible for designer the user experiences and interfaces of modern enterprise web applications. You will work directly with the Product Managers and Product Owners, to solve customer problems with design methodologies and best practices. You understand that design is not just about making things look nice, but creative problem solving through ideation, experimentation, validation, and, eventually, production usage. Ultimately, you appreciate the impact a great user experience can have on both a product and its users!

What you’ll be doing:

Design Strategy (20%):

Measures of Success: High level of interaction with users and stakeholders (weekly); bi-monthly workshops; continuous subject matter knowledge advancement.

  • Collaborate with the internal stakeholders and users to strategically develop designs that will enable unique product features to be successful.
  • Collaborate with the internal stakeholders to evolve the vision for the future of our platform and applications.
  • Iterate and expand all existing applications with the goal of driving a cohesive, intuitive, best in industry experience across all our applications.
  • Leverage insights and existing data and combine with emerging trends to draw conclusions about the future needs of our user experience.

Research & Discovery (40%):

Measures of Success: Design outputs align with the subject matter and include various approaches (practical to exploratory); usability testing is executed for all features; iteration is driven by data; design outputs and decisions are clearly communicated with supporting data.

  • Create information architecture diagrams, storyboards, and user journeys.
  • Design using an iterative approach based on user feedback and peer review.
  • Combine usability testing and telemetry to refine the overall user experience.
  • Collaborate with product and development teams to ensure design meets function, balancing user needs with technical and business constraints.
  • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive stakeholders, supported with qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Participate in regular design team reviews.
  • Translating problem statements into well thought out questions and prototypes, incorporating established and innovative design practices that support user behaviour.
  • Identify gaps and/or improvements in the existing platform. Work with product and development to ensure improvements are incorporated in a consistent and timely fashion.

Solution Design and Delivery (40%):

Measures of Success: Prototype validation and alignment for all designs from stakeholders, feature validation and adoption are tracked post-delivery, cohesive alignment between all apps, clear channel for supporting application design.

  • Design and develop high flow to low fidelity wireframes and functional prototypes.
  • Validate prototypes solve the defined problem by incorporating them into application scenarios.
  • Support the development and iteration of design during the feature lifecycle. Ensure the deliverable meeds or exceeds the design requirements delivered.
  • Validate via testing, feature deliverable solves the defined problem by incorporating them into application scenarios post development.
  • Testing results must require quantitative, qualitative, and analytic based proof of solution and ongoing adoption.
  • In collaboration with the Application team, incorporate net new features into existing applications with UX and configurable UI components driving a heightened experience and intuitive behaviour from the user.

What you will bring:

  • 2-3+ years of product experience building enterprise products.
  • A great portfolio demonstrating a diverse set of software designs, as well as insight into the thought process what went into them.
  • Experience and track record of solving complex design problems.
  • Experience testing and validating design work.
  • Great attention to detail and well organized.
  • Excellent listener who is empathetic to users.
  • Open and interested to incorporate AI into design workflows.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, must be able to explain and defend design decisions.
  • Adaptive to changing needs and perspectives.
  • Team player energized by new ideas and insights from others.
  • An egoless attitude toward design and a passion to learn and grow everyday.
  • Skilled in design for business applications; expert in Sketch, Balsamiq, Invision, or comparable wire-framing and prototyping tools.
  • Mobile and responsive design experience.
  • An understanding of accessibility requirements.

  • The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $120,000
