Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Wood products manufacturer. Tasks: Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites. Instruct apprentices. Supervise other workers. May work in a team with shared supervisory responsibilities. Stain or finish wood to specified colour. Ensure that safety standards and departmental policies are met. Professionalism in customer service. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Area of work experience: Framing and shingling. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence.
