About the role

Fleetway is seeking Senior Marine Technologists to join our Training team. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping training design and development by conducting detailed analysis and contributing to modern, data-driven training and crew readiness solutions.

Working closely with Instructional Systems Designers (ISDs), Courseware Developers (CWDs), subject matter experts, and project stakeholders, you will support Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and Training Media Analysis (TMA), ensuring training solutions are aligned with operational requirements, system performance outcomes, and best practices.

You will contribute to the design of training systems that support the integration of advanced combat and platform technologies, applying a blend of instructional methodologies, technical expertise, and emerging learning approaches to deliver effective, scalable training solutions.

This role is ideal for a highly experienced marine systems operator or maintainer who is looking to leverage their operational knowledge in a training, analysis, and program development environment.

  • Conduct analysis to support Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and Training Media Analysis (TMA) for the River-class Destroyer (RCD) Program

  • Compare existing Halifax-class training (e.g., performance objectives, instructional methods, training media) with RCD requirements to identify gaps and support train/no train decisions

  • Analyze operator and maintainer tasks using criteria such as difficulty, importance, frequency, and safety to inform training recommendations

  • Determine required levels of training for RCD platform systems based on task analysis

  • Support instructional analysis and provide recommendations on appropriate training methods and media

  • Provide subject matter expertise on platform systems, including operation and maintenance procedures, to support ongoing training program activities

  • Collaborate with ISDs, courseware developers, and internal/external stakeholders to support training design and development

  • Support project planning and coordination, including maintaining task tracking tools and reporting on assigned work packages

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience as a marine systems operator or maintainer

  • RQPO2 or QL6A qualification (or equivalent)

  • Strong understanding of naval platform systems operations and maintenance

  • Experience analyzing technical tasks and translating them into training requirements

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
