Position Summary Galaxie Brands is seeking a detail-oriented and technology-minded QA Label Technician to manage the day-to-day activities of our Label Management Program. This role is responsible for maintaining label templates, generating and reviewing label proofs, managing label inventory, printing and issuing labels, and ensuring effective control of labels throughout the product lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with Quality Assurance, Compliance, Operations, Supply Chain, and other departments to ensure labels are accurate, available when needed, and managed in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has a Life Sciences background, enjoys working with systems, technology, and data, and possesses exceptional attention to detail. They are naturally curious, seek to understand both the "why" and the "how" behind processes, and are motivated to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, efficiency, and simplification. Hours of Work: 7:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday Location: Aylmer, Ontario Key Responsibilities: Label Management * Administer the day-to-day activities of the company's Label Management Program. * Maintain approved product label templates and supporting documentation. * Ensure only current approved label versions are available for use. * Archive and control obsolete label versions. * Maintain accurate label records, logs, and related documentation. * Serve as the primary point of contact for label-related activities within the organization. Label Proof Generation & Review * Generate label proofs using approved artwork and pre-approved variable data. * Review label proofs for accuracy, completeness, formatting, and consistency. * Verify approved product information prior to release. * Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Compliance teams when clarification or review is required. * Print and issue controlled labels in support of production and packaging activities. * Support investigation and resolution of routine label-related discrepancies. Label Inventory Management * Maintain inventory of finished goods labels and other controlled label stock. * Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock is available to support business operations. * Coordinate label replenishment activities to maintain established inventory levels. * Track label usage and maintain inventory records. * Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation activities as required. Systems & Continuous Improvement * Maintain electronic label templates, databases, and associated records. * Identify opportunities to improve labeling processes, workflow efficiency, and system usability. * Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to streamline label management activities. * Support implementation of new templates, tools, technologies, and process improvements. * Assist in standardizing and simplifying labeling processes while maintaining compliance. Quality & Compliance Support * Apply quality-focused decision-making when reviewing labels and associated documentation. * Escalate potential compliance concerns, discrepancies, or issues to QA and Compliance teams. * Support audits, inspections, investigations, and documentation requests involving labeling activities. * Follow company procedures, Good Production Practices (GPP), and applicable regulatory requirements. Other Duties * Perform additional duties related to label management and quality systems as assigned. Qualifications & Experience: * Diploma or bachelor's degree in a Life Sciences discipline, including Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field. * Minimum 1 year of experience in a life science, regulated, manufacturing, quality, pharmaceutical, food, natural health product, medical device, cannabis, or similar environment. * Experience in Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, documentation control, labeling, or compliance-related activities is preferred. * Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems and technologies. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. * Experience with databases, document management systems, inventory systems, ERP systems, or labeling software is considered an asset. * Experience in the cannabis industry is considered an asset but is not required. What Success Looks Like The successful QA Label Technician will: * Maintain accurate and controlled label templates and records. * Ensure labels are available when needed to support production and customer requirements. * Prevent labeling errors through thorough review and attention to detail. * Build and maintain efficient, sustainable label management processes. * Serve as a reliable internal resource for label-related activities. * Continuously identify opportunities to improve systems, workflows, and user experience.
