ROBOTICS TECHNICIAN - Hiring Date to be determined The Opportunity The Robotics Technician will provide robotic programming solutions in an automation environment. This position will report directly to the Robotics Supervisor. Your level within the role will be determined by the skills and experience you bring when taking on this exciting career opportunity. Responsibilities are noted as you progress within the role. Junior: Job Responsibilities: Possess a basic understanding of robot programming and motion planning. Possess a basic understanding of at least two different robot types. Possess a basic ability to set up I/O structure, robot start-up, and communication networks with minimal supervision. Responsible for all programming activities under supervision of team lead. Able to follow directions regarding robotic activities and assist other trades where required. Assist with project robotic activities and assist others (controls, electrical, mechanical and project management) through to project completion. Job Qualifications: College diploma in Robotics, or related field of study and/or equivalent industry experience. Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment alongside multiple disciplines Basic understanding of Mig, resistance welding would be an asset. Passion for Safety, Health & Wellness Overcome challenges, and defuse conflict Active listening skills, embraces change, and a passion for professional development for self and others Self-awareness and knows when to raise her/his hand to ask for help Effective working knowledge of Autocad and Solidworks design software Effective working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent oral and written communication skills High energy and the flexibility to perform under short time constraints to meet deadlines Positive attitude and works well as a member of a team Strong organization skills, attention to detail disciplined approach to work Ability to work overtime Growth Focus: Actively seeks mentorship and takes ownership of progressively more complex tasks to transition from assisting on projects to independently leading small projects. Work towards an Intermediate level position. Intermediate: Job Responsibilities: Possess an average knowledge of robot programming and motion planning An average understanding with most robotic manufacturer’s equipment (Fanuc, ABB, Motoman, Nachi, Panasonic, Kuka) Experience in robot simulation and offline programming software Possess the ability to set up I/O structure, robot start-up, and Ethernet IP networks Responsible for all programming activities and direct robotic tasks under supervision of team lead Participate in meetings for tooling design and development and work with the Applications Group Possess an average understanding of welding (mig, spot, laser and projection) and the ability to set up and perfect weld schedules Assist with project robotic activities and assist others (controls, electrical, mechanical and project management) through to project completion Job Qualifications: Engineering Degree or Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma 5 plus years of practical experience College diploma in Robotics, or related field of study and/or equivalent industry experience. Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment alongside multiple disciplines Passion for Safety, Health & Wellness Overcome challenges, and defuse conflict Active listening skills, embraces change, and a passion for professional development for self and others Self-awareness and knows when to raise her/his hand to ask for help Effective working knowledge of Autocad and Solidworks design software Effective working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent oral and written communication skills High energy and the flexibility to perform under short time constraints to meet deadlines Positive attitude and works well as a member of a team Strong organization skills, attention to detail disciplined approach to work Ability to work overtime Growth Focus: Demonstrates technical leadership by identifying design efficiencies and takes a lead role on projects. Works towards a Senior level position. Senior: Job Responsibilities: Working knowledge with most robotic manufacturer’s equipment (Fanuc, ABB, Motoman, Nachi, Panasonic, Kuka) Good understanding of other project disciplines (i.e. Fluid Power, Mechanical Design) Working knowledge of PLC architecture including discrete and remote I/O Working knowledge of communication networks (Ethernet IP, RIO, Profibus, Devicenet, etc.) Working knowledge of AutoCAD software with Acad Electrical preferred Capable of performing load calculations for resistance welding, Mig welding, laser welding and assembly production lines Direct experience with control reliable circuits and Safety PLC Systems and knowledge of the applicable safety standards with respect to automated equipment Job Qualifications: Engineering Degree or Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma 8 plus years of practical experience College diploma in Robotics, or related field of study and/or equivalent industry experience. Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment alongside multiple disciplines Passion for Safety, Health & Wellness Overcome challenges, and defuse conflict Active listening skills, embraces change, and a passion for professional development for self and others Self-awareness and knows when to raise her/his hand to ask for help Effective working knowledge of Autocad and Solidworks design software Effective working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent oral and written communication skills High energy and the flexibility to perform under short time constraints to meet deadlines Positive attitude and works well as a member of a team Strong organization skills, attention to detail disciplined approach to work Ability to work overtime Qualifications, skills and abilities What We Offer Competitive Compensation: $75,000.00 -$90,000.00* * The actual compensation a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
