Company Description Specialty Gas Canada Inc. is a leading provider of high-purity Nitrogen and Oxygen Gas Generation Systems, with a focus on delivering tailored solutions to meet diverse client needs. We design and manufacture both standard and customized generator packages for local and international markets, adhering to global standards. Our in-house installation and service teams ensure seamless delivery, expert installation, and timely project completion. Known for quality and reliability, we prioritize exceptional customer experiences and long-term partnerships. Role Description This is a full-time role for a Senior Service Technician based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on professional who can take ownership of the technical and operational aspects of our service function while continuing to perform field service work. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, piping, commissioning, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing nitrogen and oxygen generation systems, compressed air equipment, dryers, boosters, and related industrial equipment. In addition to field work, this individual will provide technical supervision and leadership to the service team, ensure service work is performed to the required standards, support technicians with complex troubleshooting, and help continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of our service operations. The Senior Service Technician will interact with customers to provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and offer proactive maintenance recommendations. This role also requires maintaining accurate service records and collaborating with customer service teams to address client needs. Key Responsibilities: Perform and supervise installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of gas generation and compressed air systems. Provide technical leadership, supervision, and hands-on support to field service technicians. Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control-related equipment issues. Support technicians in diagnosing equipment failures and determining appropriate corrective actions. Ensure service and maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to company and regulatory requirements. Review service reports and ensure proper documentation of work performed, equipment condition, recommendations, and required follow-up. Communicate directly with customers regarding technical issues, equipment condition, service requirements, and recommended corrective or preventive actions. Identify recurring equipment issues and work with engineering, suppliers, technicians, and management to develop long-term solutions. Provide technical support for installations, commissioning, shutdowns, and major maintenance activities. Help identify critical spare parts, service tools, consumables, and equipment requirements. Develop and improve preventive maintenance procedures, service standards, troubleshooting guidelines, and technical checklists. Train, mentor, and support field service technicians and promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, technical excellence, and customer service. Take ownership of technical service issues from troubleshooting through resolution, documentation, and follow-up. Remain actively involved in field service, including emergency and complex troubleshooting support when required. Qualifications: Technical skills in system installation, maintenance, piping, and repair for air compressors, nitrogen, and oxygen gas generation systems Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical and engineering drawings Experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving for industrial equipment Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective client interactions Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards Understanding of and adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., TSSA standards) is a plus Diploma/Certificate in a technical field (mechanical, electrical, or related discipline) is preferred Experience in the gas generation industry is an asset, but not mandatory Willingness to travel for on-site installations and maintenance What We Are Looking For: This is not a desk-based service management position.
