You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary group of engineers, technologists, planners, and project managers to deliver innovative solutions for municipal, provincial, and private‑sector clients. This position is Calgary based and offers the flexibility of remote work. Deadline to apply: October 16th, 2026 - 11:59pm PT (The deadline displayed above is the same in Eastern Time) What You’ll Do Lead and support the design of roadways, intersections, active transportation facilities, transit corridors, and site‑access improvements. Coordinate the preparation geometric designs including horizontal/vertical alignments, intersections, grading, drainage, and corridor models. Complete ancillary design tasks such as signage, pavement marking, barrier warrants and drainage assessments. Develop design reports, cost estimates, tender packages, and construction specifications. Collaborate with internal teams across geomatics, transportation planning, municipal engineering , and construction services. Conduct design reviews to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance with applicable design standards. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and technologists. Attend meetings, present design concepts, and support public engagement activities when required. Assist with proposal production and business development. What You’ll Bring Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related discipline. 7+ years of experience in transportation or municipal infrastructure design. A minimum of 4 years experience working on Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors (TEC) projects is required. Registered or eligible for registration as a P.Eng. with APEGA, as C.E.T. with ASET, or equivalent. Strong understanding of roadway geometric design guidelines. Familiarity with various provincial and municipal guidelines throughout Alberta is an asset, particularly City of Calgary and Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors. Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary environment. What Can We Offer You? The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $140,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting.
