Job Code: 25725 Status: Temporary Part Time (Up to 1 year) Location: Providence Care Hospital Union: OPSEU 4104 Service Clerical Wage: $34.09- $39.30 Posting Period: July 18, 2026 - July 27, 2026 Under the direction of Pharmacy manager, and the supervision of the Pharmacist, and within the scope of practice of a registered Pharmacy Technician, the Pharmacy Technician will carry out the activities of the Hospital Pharmacy and is responsible and accountable for supporting a safe, efficient and effective drug distribution system within the overall medication use process in accordance with the standard practices, morals and ethics of the Pharmacy profession and the Vision, Mission and Values of Providence Care. The Pharmacy Technician will work to the full scope of practice as described within the National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA) Model Standards of Practice for Canadian Pharmacy Technicians to support the Pharmacist and ensure the safe and accurate distribution of pharmaceuticals in the Hospital. The Pharmacy Technician is accountable to the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) and to Providence Care for his/her professional service to the clients/patients. Education & Experience Current unrestricted registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists, Registered Pharmacy Technician (R.Ph.T.) Experience working in a hospital pharmacy, preferred Position Responsibilities Prepare new and refill individual client/patient orders and prescriptions (counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, mixing, repackaging, labelling) in accordance with organization and departmental policy and procedure Distribute narcotics, controlled drugs and targeted substances (NCDs) to client/patient care areas according to policy Perform sterile product preparation in accordance with departmental policy, NAPRA and OCP. The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for the safe and accurate distribution of pharmaceuticals, including preparing prescriptions and sterile products. They also manage inventory, perform medication reconciliation, and support the overall medication use process within the hospital.

Must have current unrestricted registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (R.Ph.T.) with the Ontario College of Pharmacists. Experience working in a hospital pharmacy is preferred.
