Job summary
Summary Of Duties Hematology and Coagulation Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) activities include, but are not limited to the following: Provide technical, scientific education, and supportive services to assist in the provision of patient care. Performs routine automated and manual testing in Haematology, Coagulation, and verifies/interprets laboratory results. It is essential to promote activities that enhance best practice for quality of service and a safe working environment. Qualifications/Skills Current C.M.L.T.O. Registration as a General Medical Laboratory Technologist required Recent Haematology experience - required Recent Morphology experience - preferred Demonstrated theoretical and practical knowledge in Haematology and Coagulation Demonstrate sound knowledge of Quality Control theory and its application in troubleshooting Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization Ability to work as a part of a team and independently as required Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment Flexibility/adaptability required Experience with laboratory instrumentation and middleware preferred Knowledge and understanding of CQI Knowledge of quality assurance practices Knowledge of Accreditation Canada Diagnostics. Computer skills required. Proficiency in WORD, EXCEL, and PowerPoint required All applicants may be subject to a practical assessment prior to interview.

Requirements
