Job summary
Summary Of Duties Blood transfusion and tissue banking activities include, but are not limited to the following: Routine testing duties within the Blood and Tissue Bank (group and screen, crossmatching, receipt, storage, product preparation and distribution of blood and tissue products) Provide technical, scientific education and supportive services to assist in the provision of patient care. Promotes activities which enhance best practice for quality of service and a safe working environment Qualifications/Skills C.M.L.T.O. registration or registration in progress Minimum 1 year recent Blood and Tissue Bank experience required Ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization Ability to work as a part of a team and independently as required Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment Knowledge and understanding of CQI Knowledge of current Blood and Tissue Bank Standards and Regulations (CSA, CSTM, AABB, AATB and Health Canada) Computer skills required Flexibility/adaptability required Knowledge of quality assurance practices required

Requirements
Requires CMLTO registration and at least one year of recent experience in Blood and Tissue Banking. Candidates must have knowledge of CSA, CSTM, AABB, AATB, and Health Canada regulations.
