We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Agricultural Equipment Technician to join our service team. In this role, you will work toward your Red Seal Endorsement (RSE) by performing diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on sophisticated machinery that powers the Canadian agricultural sector. You will be mentored by Red Seal Journeypersons, ensuring your training hours and skill development align with the Red Seal Occupational Standard (RSOS). Core Responsibilities Guided by the National Occupational Standard, your duties will include: Trade Safety & Tools: Maintain a clean and safe workspace in compliance with OH&S and WHMIS. Master the use of precision measuring tools, diagnostic software, and shop equipment. Preventative Maintenance: Perform inspections and scheduled maintenance on tractors, combines, seeders, and haying equipment. Engine Systems: Assist in the diagnosis and repair of advanced diesel engines, including fuel injection and emission control systems. Hydraulics & Hydrostatics: Service and repair hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, and cylinders. Power Trains: Assist in the disassembly and reassembly of transmissions, differentials, and final drives. Electronics & Precision Tech: Support the calibration of GPS-guided steering systems and onboard telematics. Documentation: Accurately log work orders and ensure your Apprentice Logbook is maintained and signed off by a certified Journeyperson. Qualifications & Requirements Registration: Must be a registered apprentice in good standing with your provincial/territorial apprenticeship authority (e.g., SkilledTradesBC, ITA, Apprenticeship Manitoba, etc.). Education: Completion of a recognized pre-employment program or Level 1 technical training is preferred. Mechanical Aptitude: A strong understanding of mechanical systems and a desire to work with complex, heavy-duty machinery. Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions and tight spaces. Driver’s License: Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract. Commitment to Excellence: A goal-oriented mindset focused on eventually challenging the Interprovincial Red Seal Exam. Why Join Us?
