IT Field Technician Location: Gibbons, Alberta (On-site) Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview Our client is seeking a hands-on Field Technician to provide on-site technology support for a large-scale construction and operations environment located just outside of Gibbons, Alberta. This role will support a growing campus currently serving approximately 60 professional staff, with significant expansion expected over the next year. The successful candidate will be a versatile IT professional who enjoys working in the field, troubleshooting technical issues, supporting end users, and ensuring technology systems remain operational in a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities Prior field support experience in the construction industry is required, with the ability to work effectively in active construction environments and build strong working relationships with construction personnel and tradespeople. Provide on-site technical support for end users across the project site. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues. Perform break-fix support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment. Set up, deploy, configure, and relocate IT equipment as required. Support onboarding and workstation deployments for new employees. Coordinate with internal infrastructure and networking teams when advanced support is required. Assist with inventory management and tracking of IT assets. Document incidents, service requests, and technical procedures. Travel throughout the site to provide responsive support across multiple locations. Maintain a high level of customer service while supporting both office personnel and construction teams. Required Qualifications Previous experience in a Field Technician, Desktop Support, IT Support, Service Desk, or similar technical support role. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience supporting Windows-based environments and common business applications. Hands-on experience with hardware deployment, maintenance, and repairs. Ability to work independently in a field-based environment. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting users in construction, industrial, manufacturing, energy, or field-based environments. Basic networking knowledge, including connectivity troubleshooting and network device support. Familiarity with IT asset management and inventory processes. Experience working in large, rapidly growing environments.
